Palombar wants to be an active agent in promoting and increasing technical and scientific knowledge associated with the conservation of nature and biodiversity and the preservation of rural heritage. On-site training, in proximity to the territory and its natural and human wealth, is an enriching and unique experience.
CURRICULAR INTERNSHIPS AND THESES
Palombar is available for proposals concerning curricular internship projects or theses that, according to the objectives of the proponents, on a research or professional experience level, simultaneously contribute to the development of the organization and also enrich the existing knowledge of our main areas of intervention.
Our organization collaborates in the development of internship, master's and doctoral projects in the areas of Ecology, Conservation Biology, Ecosystem Management, Forest Sciences and Agriculture - or in other fields that fall within our scope of activity. The terms of the internship or thesis will be defined - duration, method, monitoring, etc. - between both parties, according to the specificity of each case. If you have a proposal, send us an email to palombar@palombar.pt.

Courses
We organize technical-scientific courses aimed at various audiences, with theoretical-practical programs that intend to increase the knowledge of the participants on methods and practices of conservation and management of Nature and Biodiversity.
TRADITIONAL BUILDING TECHNIQUES WORKSHOPS
Palombar organizes workshops on various traditional building techniques - such as wrought iron, carpentry, adobe preparation, stone wall construction or partition walls - generally aimed at groups of up to 12 people, lasting a weekend.
Traditional construction techniques have, over the years, been replaced by more standardized and conventional ones and their repositories are few. The creation of moments to transmit knowledge represents, therefore, more than an incentive to learn technical knowledge, as it is a way to promote the preservation of an intangible heritage of immense wealth.

Traditional Architecture and Sustainability Meeting
The Traditional Architecture and Sustainability Meeting was born in 2013 from the desire to bring the debate about vernacular architecture and ecological construction to this region - and to a particular village, Uva -, plentiful not only in specimens, but also of knowledge, which still lives on in traditional builders. Since then, several gatherings have been held in the village of Uva, bringing together speakers, trainers, students and enthusiasts of these themes, creating an informal sharing space, brimming with lectures, workshops, exhibitions, cinema and shows.
